Noel Santos (Philippines)

Head of Women's Artistic Gymnastics

WAG Coach

Noel comes from the Philippines where he started as a gymnast and began coaching in 1991. Coaching through his University career, he was provided with the opportunity to be varsity gymnast and was awarded a scholarship for 4 straight years. Noel has coached both MAG and WAG in a range of settings from public schools all the way through to being the National Coach for WAG in the Philippines. Noel’s passion and expertise for sport is demonstrated by various other sports he has coached including providing strength and flexibility coaching for dance sport and figure skaters.

Amy Brooks (Canada)

Gymnastics Programme Manager

WAG Coach

Amy Brooks comes from Canada where she was a gymnast. Amy and her husband and two daughters moved to Singapore in August 2013, and her husband teaches Physics and Science here at UWCSEA.

Amy is passionate about sport and has a background in swimming, basketball, volleyball, athletics, and figure skating. Amy has taught and coached in North America, Africa, and Asia. She is passionate about the education and training of children and is inspired by being a part of the growth and development they achieve through the challenging and exciting sport of gymnastics. Amy is excited to be coaching gymnastics at UWCSEA East and is grateful to be able to continue to share her passion for gymnastics and fitness with the students here.

Tiffany Tse (Hong Kong)

WAG Coach

Tiffany comes from Hong Kong where she started gymnastics at the age of 2.

Tiffany has experience in coaching gymnastics classes ranging from recreational level to competitive squads. She has coached at kindergartens, local and international schools, private clubs, as well as a talent-identifying and training programme under the HK Gymnastics National Squad. Prior to joining UWCSEA East, she was a long-term coach at the Canadian International School of Hong Kong and a private gym club Kidnetic.

In 2015, Tiffany took part in the 15th World Gymnaestrada held in Helsinki, Finland. She was part of the 50-people team that represented Hong Kong at the event. Working closely alongside two other coaches, she helped in choreographing two display routines for the event.

Tiffany enjoys coaching a lot and is very excited that she is able to share her expertise and passion in gymnastics with our Dragons gymnasts at UWCSEA East.

Roel Ramirez (Philippines)

WAG Coach

Roel is from the Philippines, where he was a member of the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Philippine National Team from 1997 to 2005. He started his gymnastics career when he was 9 years old. Roel then started to train in the Gymnastics National Team Gymnasium.

Roel has had 15 years of coaching experience for MAG & WAG in various clubs and in associations such as Muntinlupa Gymnastics Club, International School Manila, Multisport (Shanghai and Beijing), Philippine Gymnastics and Athletics Academy and Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (MAG). He is thrilled to now be coaching at UWCSEA East.

Rhea Ramirez (Philippines)

WAG Coach

Rhea comes from the Philippines, where she was a member of the Philippine National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team.

Her athletic career started when she was 9 years old, largely due to the influence of her father and four older brothers who, at the time, were also members of the Philippine National Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team. She had a strong foundation in several sports like swimming, judo and martial arts, but decided to focus on Rhythmic Gymnastics as she found it to be the most challenging and rewarding.

After her athletic career, she decided to share her knowledge and experience in sports by teaching kids of all ages. She coached full-time at the Philippine Gymnastics Athletic Academy for 5 years, where she handled recreational and competitive classes. She also worked as a part-time coach in the British School of Manila, Tictac Tumble Gymnastics for Kiddos and Jubilee Christian Academy.

Coach Rhea enjoys coaching a lot and is excited to be sharing her love for the sport with the kids at UWCSEA East.

Gabriel Gan (Singapore)

Head of Men's Artistic Gymnastics

MAG Coach

A post-graduate in Exercise and Sports Science, Gabriel’s experience in coaching competitive and recreational gymnastics started in 2000. Gabriel was the former captain of the Singapore MAG National Team from 2009-2015, winning multiple medals at the Southeast Asian Games. He also competed in 3 FIG World Championships and was a finalist at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. He is currently a certified FIG International judge. With a strong passion for gymnastics, Gabriel continues to keep up to date with the latest coaching techniques and judging standards. He enjoys coaching children and looks forward to training the next generation of gymnasts at UWCSEA East.

Ronnie Ramirez (Philippines)

MAG Coach

Ronnie comes from the Philippines. An accomplished Gymnast, Ronnie started taking gymnastics lessons at the age of 10 and advanced to being a member for MAG National team, representing the Philippines in various international competitions including the Southeast Asian Games. Ronnie’s passion for the sport, led him to an extensive coaching career in the Philippines, China (Beijing and Shanghai) and Singapore, training both recreational and competitive Gymnastics. His goal is to aspire, train and develop gymnastics through the provision of good quality programmes, sharing of his knowledge and experiences with the students here at UWCSEA.  

Cesar Gatchalian (Philippines)

WAG Coach

Cesar was a gymnastics and cheerleading coach at the University of the Philippines and has been coaching for the last 6 years in Australia. Coach Cesar will be coaching our higher level girls team as well as recreational classes.

“When I saw the growing program of UWCSEA here in Singapore I was very excited and encouraged to come here to coach. Knowing some of the coaches of UWCSEA, it was easy for me to decide to move here. I love coaching kids and motivating & mentoring them. I’m very excited to share my experience and knowledge in coaching Gymnastics with the coaches and gymnasts of UWCSEA.”
