On Saturday, 9 September Chelsea FC International Development Centre (CFCIDC) Singapore opened its doors and delivered its first Weekend Coaching Clinic at the state-of-the-art facility at UWCSEA East. The pioneering programme has been designed and will be delivered by International Development Coaches from Chelsea FC in the UK.
Over 70 students from the College, as well as the surrounding community, participated in complimentary training sessions led by the Chelsea FC Foundation coaches. The free football clinics allowed children 4-12 years of age to participate in structured football sessions, with the focus on improving a player's individual technique in a range of fun, interactive and challenging sessions all within a safe and positive learning environment.
Aside from the delivery of training sessions to students, there was an opportunity for parents to learn more information about the partnership between UWCSEA East and Chelsea FC Foundation. A presentation highlighting the future opportunities, including Development Teams, Residential Trips and Student Leadership opportunities was delivered.
Chelsea FC Foundation coaches are permanently based at UWCSEA East, which provides students with unprecedented access to a genuine football experience, delivered in line with the standards and expectations set by last season's Premier League Champions.
The Chelsea FC IDC Singapore will be running its Weekend Coaching Clinics every Saturday morning on the Sports Field at UWCSEA East, at the following session times:
4-6 years old (8-9am)
7-9 years old (9-10.30am)
9-12 years old (10.45am-12.15pm)
